Responsive, responsible government. This citizen initiated recall petition gives Airdrie-East a clear, democratic voice to defend this right.
Why this petition? Angela Pitt has not engaged in healthy, community-centered dialogue with her constituents, nor built strong community-focused partnerships with those who do not have the same political beliefs as herself. Our elected representatives, while connected to a party, must serve the entire public of their riding, listening and responding to various perspectives and beliefs. A vote in the legislative assembly should represent a constituency, not only a party, and be responsive to the law of this province, country, and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

The petition application states, “Angela Pitt should be recalled from her position as MLA due to repeated social media posts that are positioned with unfounded claims and divisive rhetoric, raising concerns about her ability to effectively represent and serve our riding. Her actions have eroded public trust and suggest she prioritizes personal agendas over the needs of constituents. In conversation with many constituents, they have found Ms. Pitt lacking availability for and open engagement with many issues faced in our area. For our community to thrive, we need a representative committed to constructive dialogue and responsible governance.”
